Tarari Assembly Election 2025: Tarari Assembly Seat of Bihar has always been a testimony to the changing equations of politics. Here sometimes JDU won, sometimes CPI(ML)(L) showed its strength and in the recently held 2024 by-election, BJP won. This is why the 2025 elections are being considered even more interesting.
2010 Tarari Assembly elections-JDU’s dominance
In 2010, JDU’s Narendra Kumar Pandey alias Sunil Pandey won this seat.
- Narendra Kumar Pandey (JDU) -48,413 votes
- Adeeb Rizvi (RJD) – 34,093 votes
- Margin of victory – 14,320 votes
Important thing: This victory strengthened JDU in Tarari region.
2015 Tarari Assembly Elections – Rise of Leftist forces
The 2015 election proved to be very close. This time Sudama Prasad of CPI(ML)(L) won.
- Sudama Prasad (CPI-ML L)-44,050 votes
- Geeta Pandey (LJP) -43,778 votes
- Margin of victory – only 272 votes
Important thing: This contest was counted among the most exciting contests in Bihar politics.
2020 Tarari Assembly Elections-Return of Sudama Prasad
In 2020, Sudama Prasad once again won. This time he defeated independent candidate Narendra Kumar Pandey.
- Sudama Prasad (CPI-ML L) – 73,945 votes
- Narendra Kumar Pandey (IND)-62,930 votes
- Margin of victory – 13,015 votes
- Important thing: This victory made it clear that the Left’s hold on the Tarari seat was still intact.
Note: Sudama Prasad is educated till graduation. There are three criminal cases against him. His total assets are around Rs 62 lakh and he also has a loan of Rs 16 thousand.
2024 by-elections-BJP’s blast
When Sudama Prasad became MP and the seat became vacant, a by-election was held in 2024. In this, Vishal Prashant of BJP made a big difference.
- Vishal Prashant (BJP) – 78,755 votes
- Raju Yadav (CPI-ML L)-68,143 votes
- Margin of victory – 10,612 votes
Important thing: This victory was historic for BJP as this seat was considered the stronghold of Left parties for a long time.
Note: Vishal Prashant is 12th pass. He has movable and immovable assets worth about Rs 5.77 crore. There is no criminal case but the liability of Rs 32 lakh is definitely outstanding.
2025 Tarari Assembly Elections – Who will win?
Tarari seat now seems divided into three big poles – BJP, Left parties and JDU. The 2025 elections will decide whether the BJP will maintain its hold or the Left will make a comeback.
