The seat distribution in the NDA alliance for Tamil Nadu elections has been finalized. Out of total 234 seats, AIADMK will contest on 178 seats and BJP on 27 seats. PMK has got 18 seats and AMMK has got 11 seats in the alliance.

Chennai: Amidst the hustle and bustle of elections in five states, big news has come from Tamil Nadu. Here the distribution of seats in the NDA alliance has been finalized. Out of the total 234 assembly seats in the state, BJP has got a chance to contest only 27 seats. There was a time when Annamalai, who was the state president, had created a tremendous environment for BJP in Tamil Nadu. It was even said that BJP would form the government in the state in 2026. But then Annamalai had to step down from the post of president and the talk of alliance with AIADMK moved forward. Now AIADMK has won in seat sharing.

AIADMK got 178 seats

Edappadi K in NDA alliance. Palaniswami-led AIADMK has managed to secure 178 seats. The party says that it will take full advantage of the anti-incumbency wave against DMK and the NDA alliance will form the government in the state with a majority.

Which party gets how many seats in NDA?

While BJP has got only 27 seats in Tamil Nadu, AIADMK has been given 178 seats. Apart from these, PMK (Pattali Makkal Katchi) has got a chance to contest on 18 seats and AMMK (Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam) has got a chance to contest on 11 seats.

Talking about the last elections (2021), AIADMK had contested 179 seats and won 66. At the same time, BJP tried its luck on 20 seats, out of which it won only 4 seats. This time BJP was demanding 30 seats, but it had to be satisfied with only 27 seats.

This time the elections in Tamil Nadu are going to be very interesting. Voting will be held in a single phase in the state on April 23. Counting of votes will be done on May 4. Along with Tamil Nadu, elections are also being held in West Bengal, Assam, Kerala and Union Territory Puducherry.
