Tamannaah Bhatia Says She Studied Chhath Rituals to Prepare for ‘Chhathi Maiya’ Song in The Vvaan

Actress Tamannaah Bhatia has spoken about her preparation for the devotional song ‘Chhathi Maiya’ from her upcoming drama The Vvaan, saying she studied the significance and traditions of Chhath Puja before filming the track.

Tamannaah said she wanted to understand the ritual and its cultural importance, particularly the way Chhath is observed in Bihar and Patna, before portraying the song.

“I have always held a deep reverence for Chhath Puja. Before we started shooting for the song, I spent time studying and understanding the significance of the ritual and how it is performed in Bihar and Patna,” she said.

The actress, known for films including Baahubali, said she was struck by the spiritual significance of the festival and developed a strong personal connection with Chhathi Maiyya.

“Honestly, I was stunned to learn the power it holds. The strong connection I felt with Chhathi Maiyya is something I cannot put in words. I found myself feeling deeply connected to her,” Tamannaah said.

She added that Chhath Puja is central to the narrative of The Vvaan and said she would not have wanted to experience the ritual in any other way.

The ‘Chhathi Maiya’ song has been sung by Vishal Mishra and released under the Zee Music label. Kaushal Kishore has written the lyrics, while Chinni Prakash has choreographed the track.

Presented by Balaji Motion Pictures, a division of Balaji Telefilms Ltd, in association with TVF and 11.11 Production, The Vvaan stars Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah in the lead roles.

The film’s teaser presents the story of an urban man who awakens a divine goddess in the forbidden forest of his ancestral village and is forced to confront supernatural forces beyond his understanding.

Directed by Deepak Mishra, the film’s story is by Arunabh Kumar. Manu Anand serves as director of photography and visual director.

Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Arunabh Kumar and Niraj Kothari have jointly backed the project. The Vvaan is scheduled for theatrical release on September 25, 2026.
