According to Jumbish, when the Taliban attacked near the Durand Line, many Pakistani soldiers left their posts and ran away. After this, Taliban fighters captured their clothes and weapons from the checkpoints and displayed them publicly as evidence and of their victory.

Later, from the evening of 15 October, both the countries agreed to a 48-hour ceasefire.
