The championships run for seven days, from October 19 to 25, in Tashkent. However, the exact dates, opponents and start times for each of India’s matches are yet to be published. The team’s competition and doubles competition will commence first, and it will conclude with the singles competition.

What does the tournament mean for India?

The competition carries particular importance for the Indian men’s team, which is seeded sixth and has direct entry into the Champions Division. The team will face a demanding challenge against established continental powers, with consistency across the five-player squad likely to be crucial.

India’s women, meanwhile, will need to navigate the First Division pathway. Teams progress through group-stage and knockout matches, with the two First Division semifinal winners advancing to the eight-team Champions Division. The revised format also allows group runners-up to remain in contention for promotion.

The tournament is also listed by the ITTF with a qualification pathway for the 2027 World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals, making team results significant beyond continental rankings.
