Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah Completes 17 Years: Popular TV sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC) has completed 17 successful years since its launch in 2008. The team recently celebrated this milestone with a grand press conference and a cake-cutting ceremony. In a touching gesture, producer Asit Kumarr Modi invited the parents of all the actors to join in the cake-cutting, as a mark of respect to elders. During the event, the cast fondly remembered actress Disha Vakani, best known for her iconic role as Dayaben. She has been missing from the sets since 2017, when she took a maternity break, and has not returned since.
Asit Modi took to Instagram to share a video with the caption written in Hindi. Fans were delighted when Asit Modi and Disha Vakani reunited for Raksha Bandhan this year. In a video shared on Instagram, Disha is seen tying a rakhi to Asit and his wife. When she tried to touch his feet, Asit stopped her and instead touched hers as a sign of respect. The video also offered a rare glimpse of Disha with her family and young daughter. Meanwhile, Disha Vakani’s absence is felt most by co-stars Dilip Joshi (Jethalal) and Mayur Vakani (Sundarlal), who is also her real-life brother.
On the other hand, the reunion sparked excitement among fans, with many flooding the comments asking Asit to convince Disha to return to TMKOC. One user wrote, “She looks so sweet as always. Did you ask her to come back? Please tell her so many people miss her a lot.” Another commented, “The show is incomplete without Daya Ben. Please bring her back.” Disha Vakani became a household name with her portrayal of the lovable, quirky Dayaben. Since her departure in 2017, viewers have been eagerly awaiting her comeback. Furthermore, Asit Modi has confirmed that auditions for the role are ongoing but has also said he would be happiest if Disha herself returned.
