Pakistan beats Namibia: Pakistan has won the do or die match against Namibia. Pakistan confirmed its place in the Super-8 by defeating Namibia by 102 runs in the match played in Colombo. Pakistan team was the 8th i.e. the last team to reach the Super-8. With Pakistan reaching the Super-8, its hopes for another match with India have also been raised.
Pakistan defeated Namibia by 102 runs
Playing first on the Colombo ground, Pakistan had set a target of scoring 200 runs against Namibia. In reply, Namibia’s team could not even score 100 runs. In front of the big total of 200, Namibia’s innings was reduced to only 97 runs. In this way Pakistan registered a big victory in an important match. It was important for Pakistan to win this match because its Super-8 ticket was to be decided through it.

Pakistan’s mystery spinner Usman Tariq played a big role in restricting Namibia to 100 runs. Usman Tariq took 4 wickets for 16 runs in 3.3 overs. This was the career best performance of Usman Tariq. Apart from him, Shadab Khan got 3 wickets in 4 overs.
Before Usman Tariq and Shadab Khan wreaked havoc in bowling, Namibia was also attacked by Sahibzada Farhan. Sahibzada scored an unbeaten 100 runs on 58 balls, on the basis of which Pakistan team managed to set a difficult target of 200 for Namibia by scoring 199 runs.

After defeating Namibia, Pakistan team has now reached Super-8. Along with this, the names of all the teams of Super-8 have also been decided. Group 1 includes India, Zimbabwe, West Indies and South Africa. Apart from Pakistan, Group 2 has New Zealand, England and Sri Lanka.
How can India and Pakistan clash in the semi-finals?
At the Super-8 stage, every team has to play one match each against the teams of its respective group. Meaning, India-Pakistan match cannot take place in Super 8 but there can be a clash between them in the semi-finals. This can happen if India remains on top from Group 1 and goes to the semi-finals and Pakistan becomes the second team to reach the semi-finals from Group 2 of Super-8.
