IND vs PAK: The India-Pakistan match in T20 World Cup 2026 has been confirmed. But, the icing on the cake for cricket fans is that now there will be not just one but two matches between India and Pakistan. Meaning, where till now there was doubt about even a match taking place, now double thrill can be seen between two arch rivals of cricket. Now the question is how will this happen? The first match will be played on 15th February at Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, which you know about. But, the second clash between India and Pakistan can also be seen later in the tournament.
India-Pakistan’s first clash at group stage
The match between India and Pakistan on 15th February will be a group stage match. The 20 teams playing in the tournament have been divided into 4 groups. There are 5-5 teams in each group. At the group stage, the teams of each group have to compete against each other. In this series, India and Pakistan included in Group A will clash on 15th February. In the T20 World Cup 2026, Super-8 matches will be played after the group stage. There will be two groups in Super-8, in which the top 2 teams from each group of the group stage will be divided on the basis of their ranking.
How can the Super-8 group be?
Now if India-Pakistan remain on top in their Group A. Australia and Sri Lanka remain on top in Group B. If England and West Indies advance from Group C and New Zealand and South Africa advance from Group D, then the two groups of Super-8 can be like this.
Group-1 in India, Australia, West Indies, South Africa
Group-2 in England, New Zealand, Pakistan and Sri Lanka
India-Pak clash will not take place in Super-8
At the Super-8 stage, every team has to play one match each against the teams of its respective group. Meaning, there does not seem to be a match between India and Pakistan at the Super-8 stage of the tournament. But, if India and Pakistan succeed in reaching the semi-finals from their respective Super-8 groups, then there are chances of their clash there. Now let us know how this will happen.

If this happens then India-Pakistan will clash in the semis or finals.
If India remains on top from Group 1 and reaches the semi-finals and Pakistan remains the second team to reach the semi-finals from Group 2 of Super-8, then there can be a clash between them. If both India and Pakistan remain on top in their respective groups of Super-8, then to see the second match between them, we will have to wait for them to reach the final.
