ICC will release the schedule of T20 World Cup 2026 in the coming time. But, before that, the names of the venues for his matches have been shortlisted. T20 World Cup 2026 matches can be played in 5 cities of India. According to the report of Indian Express, a meeting of BCCI officials has been held regarding this, in which it has been decided to hold the T20 World Cup 2026 in fewer cities as compared to the ODI World Cup 2023.

According to the report, in the meeting of BCCI officials, the idea of holding 6-6 matches at each venue was also approved. Now the question is that BCCI has shortlisted the names of which cities of India for T20 World Cup 2026? It includes 5 cities. BCCI has shortlisted Ahmedabad, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai as venues for the T20 World Cup.
Who will be the 3 venues of Sri Lanka?
Along with India, the host of T20 World Cup 2026 is also Sri Lanka. It is believed that 3 stadiums of Sri Lanka will host World Cup matches. But, it is not yet clear which will be those 3 venues there.
Women’s World Cup venue not to host
According to Indian Express, there is nothing clear about whether the name of Bengaluru or Lucknow was considered as the venue or not. BCCI has refused to host the T20 World Cup 2026 at those grounds which have recently hosted the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025. Guwahati, Visakhapatnam, Indore and Navi Mumbai are the 4 venues in India where the Women’s ODI World Cup matches were played.
ICC has made it clear to BCCI that if Sri Lankan team qualifies for the semi-finals then they will have to come to play in Colombo. Whereas if Pakistan team reaches the final, then the title match will be held at a neutral venue only. That means in that case the final will not be held in India.
