T20 World Cup 2026, IND vs PAK, ICC Match Official: T20 World Cup 2026 is going to start from 7th February, which will be organized jointly in India and Sri Lanka. The most talked about match in this tournament will be between India and Pakistan, which will be held on February 15 at R.K. Colombo, Colombo. Will be played at Premadasa Stadium. This match is considered to be high voltage not only for the cricket fans but also for the whole world, because the match between the two teams is always exciting. ICC has made a big announcement regarding this match.
ICC’s big announcement for India-Pakistan match
ICC has announced the match officials for the group stage of T20 World Cup 2026. This includes a total of 24 on-field umpires and 6 match referees. Officials for Super 8 and Knockout Stage will be selected later. The responsibility of umpiring the India-Pakistan match has been entrusted to two experienced and veteran umpires. The on-field umpires in this match will be Kumar Dharmasena of Sri Lanka and Richard Illingworth of England.
Kumar Dharmasena has umpired in many big matches in the past, including the 2016 and 2022 T20 World Cup finals. He will also be the on-field umpire in the opening match of the tournament (Pakistan VS Netherlands). Richard Illingworth also has long experience in international cricket. On the other hand, on the first day of the tournament, Nitin Menon and Sam Nogajski will officiate in the Group C match between Scotland and West Indies in Kolkata. On the other hand, Team India will play its match in the tournament against America on February 7 in Mumbai. Paul Rifle and Rod Tucker have been appointed as on-field umpires for this match.
