T20 Mumbai League achieves highest-ever viewership in 2026 season

The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) announced that the 2026 edition of the T20 Mumbai League has reached record viewership, solidifying its status as one of India’s fastest-growing domestic T20 competitions.

The tournament generated over 3.8 billion minutes of watch time across television and digital platforms.

The season featured prominent Indian cricket players and the successful inauguration of the Nuvama Private T20 Mumbai Women’s League, marking a significant milestone in the league’s development as a leading domestic cricket event. Through collaboration with JioStar, a major sports broadcaster in India, the league exhibited considerable growth in key consumption metrics, highlighting an expanding national audience and increasing fan engagement.

Several renowned cricketers, such as Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Ajinkya Rahane, Shivam Dube, Shardul Thakur, Sarfaraz Khan, and Tushar Deshpande, alongside emerging talents, participated in the competition, showcasing Mumbai’s cricketing depth and enhancing the league’s reputation.

The men’s tournament achieved its highest television reach to date, with over 65 million viewers. Television watch time increased by 61%, while digital views on JioHotstar rose by 66% from the previous edition, reflecting the league’s growing popularity across multiple platforms.

The launch of the Nuvama Private T20 Mumbai Women’s League underscored the MCA’s dedication to developing the women’s cricket ecosystem by creating more opportunities for emerging players and establishing a stronger pathway for future talent.

An integrated marketing and social media campaign further boosted the league’s success, generating over 158 million social media views during the season, highlighting its expanding digital footprint and fan engagement.

Building on the achievements of the 2026 season, the Mumbai Cricket Association intends to enhance fan engagement and community involvement to strengthen the Private T20 Mumbai League’s position among India’s foremost domestic T20 tournaments.
