Bihar vs Uttar Pradesh: Bihar has defeated Uttar Pradesh in its last group match of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025. The Uttar Pradesh team was playing under the captaincy of Rinku Singh. Whereas Bihar team is without its star player Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Despite this, Bihar defeated Uttar Pradesh by 6 wickets in the match played on 8 December. This is the first win for Bihar in the tournament after losing the first 6 matches of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025.
Rinku did not work, Prashant remained the top scorer, UP scored so many runs
In the last group match of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025, Bihar won the toss and put Uttar Pradesh to bat first. In front of the tight bowling of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh’s top to middle order failed to settle on the wicket, which also included its captain and international player Rinku Singh.
Rinku Singh looked so unsuccessful with the bat that his strike rate was much below 100. Facing 25 balls, he scored only 19 runs at a strike rate of 76. Sameer Rizvi was the highest run scorer for UP in the top order by scoring 22 runs. But, the player whose role played in taking the UP team to 144 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs was Prashant Veer, who played an inning of 40 runs at number 7.

Now the Bihar team, playing without Vaibhav Suryavanshi, had a target of 145 runs. When Bihar team set out to chase this target, the best thing that happened was that its opening pair got off to a strong start. The new opening pair of Ayush Loharuka and Piyush Kumar Singh made a partnership of 83 runs. Bihar did a great job in taking that unique beginning to its right conclusion. The result was that the team achieved the target by losing 4 wickets in 4 balls already. The maximum runs for Bihar were scored by its opener Piyush Kumar Singh. He faced 54 balls and scored 57 runs.
