Bollywood actress Swara Bhaskar shed her usual image for the glamorous role in Rhea Kapoor’s Veere Di Wedding, which also starred Kareena Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor Ahuja.
She recently called it the most challenging project of her career and recalled feeling “half-naked” during the shoot of Tareefan.
Swara Bhaskar Calls Veere Di Wedding ‘Most Challenging’
During an interview with Mirchi Plus, Swara explained that, although she is comfortable preparing for roles by working on body language and dialogues, glamorous characters were the hardest for her. She said her role in Veere Di Wedding involved intense focus on looks, costumes, and pressure to maintain a certain physique, which made it very stressful.
The actress added that she had never felt so challenged in her career, but with the support of stylist Rhea, the process became manageable.
Swara Recalls Feeling ‘Half-Naked’ On Tareefan Set
Swara said, “It was the hardest to look good everyday, wearing lenses, makeup, new hair. At times, I used to wear the clothes and ask them, ‘What is this? Are these clothes?’ I remember when we were shooting Tareefan, I wore a bodysuit. I had heard what it was for the first time. It is basically a one-piece swimming costume with a deep neck, along with heels or boots.”
She added, “We had to leave the vanity van from the parking and walk till the studio. I asked Rhea, ‘These are the clothes? There’s nothing to wear underneath?’ She said that there’s a vibe in this outfit, with the fishnet stockings, etc. I said that I am half-naked, how will I walk to the studio like this? I asked for a towel and wrapped it around me, so it was hard for me.”
The Raanjhanaa actress, however, feels that the final outcome was successful because she maintained her authenticity, even though the journey was difficult.
