When is Surya Grahan 2026: Solar eclipse always occurs on Amavasya Tithi. Tomorrow i.e. on 17th February, Amavasya of Phalgun month will be celebrated. Also, the first solar eclipse of the year is going to occur tomorrow. The eclipse of the Sun will occur in Aquarius and Dhanishtha Nakshatra. This is going to be an annular solar eclipse. Science calls it Ring of Fire in its language. This solar eclipse is very special.

This solar eclipse is not going to be visible in India nor will its Sutak period be considered in India, but people have a question in their minds that what is this Ring of Fire and why is this solar eclipse special?

What is the Ring of Fire? (What Is Ring Of Fire)

According to NASA, when the distance of the Moon from the Earth is the maximum and during that time a solar eclipse occurs, the Moon fails to cover the Sun completely due to its distance. That’s why it looks smaller in size. In such a situation, the central part of the Sun appears black and a thin shiny circle of light is formed around it. This shiny circle looks like a ring of fire. This is called Ring of Fire.

Second, during an annular solar eclipse, the Sun, Moon and Earth are in a straight line and the Moon covers the central part of the Sun. In this situation the Sun starts looking like a ring.

Why is solar eclipse special?

This solar eclipse of the year 2026 is being considered special because it is going to occur in Shani Dev’s zodiac sign Aquarius and in Dhanishtha constellation. Along with Sun, Rahu, Mercury, Venus and Moon are also going to be present in this zodiac. It is said in astrology that Grahan Yoga is formed when Sun and Rahu are together in any zodiac sign. The conjunction of Rahu and Sun in Aquarius is traditionally considered inauspicious.
