Under the ‘Puna Margame-Rehabilitation to Rejuvenation’ initiative in Dandakaranya area, 25 Maoist cadres (including 12 women) have left the path of violence and returned to the mainstream. This incident is being considered a big and concrete achievement towards the end of Naxalism.

Through the ‘Poona Margame’ initiative, the government has undertaken rehabilitation and confidence building work in Naxal affected areas. The result of this initiative is that 25 Maoist cadres surrendered and decided to return to the democratic system.

Cadres rewarded with ₹1.47 crore left the path of violence
The Chief Minister said that a total reward of ₹1.47 crore was declared on these 25 Maoist cadres who surrendered. Their return to the mainstream is an indication that now the lost people are expressing confidence in the rehabilitation policy of the government and the democratic system.
Naxalite network weakened due to the action of security forces
Chief Minister Sai said that due to the continuous effective action of the security forces and the strategy of the government, the Maoist system is now becoming weak. In the same sequence, 93 deadly weapons and a huge seizure of ₹ 14.06 crore have also been made, which is a clear indication of the weakening of the Naxal network.

The Chief Minister said that this is not just surrender, but a return of trust. Dandakaranya region is now returning to peace, stability and normal life, which is a positive sign for the state.
