Chennai: Actor Suriya is set to surprise audiences with his portrayal of a reluctant police officer, DSP Inbaraj, in Jithu Madhavan’s upcoming crime comedy, ‘Scene’.
The recently released trailer offers a glimpse into a character far removed from his iconic ‘Singam’ avatar.
Inbaraj, having resigned from the police force, is shown enjoying a laid-back life at home. The trailer humorously depicts police officers attempting to convince him to rejoin, even resorting to carrying him out of his house as he nonchalantly smokes. When questioned about his resignation at the peak of his career, Inbaraj expresses a desire to enter politics, a statement that has drawn parallels to actor Vijay’s recent political aspirations.
Produced by Jyotika and Suriya under Zhagaram Studios, ‘Scene’ also stars Nazriya Nazim Fahadh, Anandraj, Lal, and Raj Priyan. The film is slated for a Diwali 2026 release on November 6. Suriya was last seen in Venky Atluri’s romantic drama ‘Vishwanath & Sons’, which is currently streaming on Netflix.
