A Special Celebration of Love
Chennai: Renowned actors Suriya and Jyotika have reaffirmed their commitment to each other by renewing their wedding vows, marking two decades of their union.
The couple commemorated their 20th anniversary with a cozy Christian ceremony, attended by their closest friends and family.
Having tied the knot on September 11, 2006, Suriya and Jyotika are proud parents to two children, Diya and Dev.
Jyotika took to social media to share a collection of images and videos from their enchanting ceremony, accompanied by a touching message for her husband. In one memorable moment, she walked down the aisle with their son, while their daughter was by Suriya’s side.
In her heartfelt caption, Jyotika expressed, “THE SEQUEL – A vow renewal, celebrating our 20 years of love and war. This is not a celebration of a flawless marriage but rather a tribute to our imperfections, adjustments, understanding, sacrifices, and the selfless love we share. This is a celebration of ‘us’ and the individuals we have become for one another.”
Reflecting on their journey, Jyotika noted how a dream that once seemed distant has now transformed into a cherished reality she hopes to enjoy for the rest of her life.
“I vow to treasure our friendship above all – it’s rare to find your equal, confidant, gossip partner, and best friend all in one extraordinary man who is also your husband and the father of your children.”
Jyotika concluded her message with a toast to their future together, stating, “Here’s to our next twenty years – the imperfect us, with perfect understanding.”
Suriya, aged 51, and Jyotika, 47, first crossed paths on the set of the film Poovellam Kettuppar in 1999.
After several years of dating, they exchanged vows on September 11, 2006, in Chennai.
Jyotika, who made her debut in Hindi cinema with Doli Saja Ke Rakhna, has become a prominent figure in Tamil cinema, alongside her husband Suriya, who was recently seen in director Venky Atluri’s Vishwanath & Sons.
