New Delhi: Recently, a mass suicide took place in Gujarat’s Surat that sent shockwaves. Now, the Vesu police team has caught the alleged perpetrator who reportedly led to the death of the Khetan family in Delhi with the help of technical surveillance.
A suicide note of three pages and a seven-year-old survivor’s testimony revealed credit card fraud and relentless mental torture the pushed the family to mass suicide. Moreover, the survivor was reportedly spoon-fed poison. The A local Delhi court refused transit remand, and the accused has been ordered to appear in person before the Surat court.
The financial abuse of the family
Probe revealed that Balmukund Khetan and his family took the extreme step due to financial abuse. A three-page suicide note written in Hindi accused Rungta of misusing the credit cards of Khetan, a stock market professional from Bihar. When Khetan demanded his money back, he was abuses and given death threats. The family was subjected to constant mental and financial pressure.
Youngest daughter survives
The sole survivor is the family’s youngest daughter, Prithvi (7), who has revealed some details, including the fact that her parents “spoon-fed” her something. As per the investigators, the couple poisoned the children first before consuming the substance themselves.
After they consumed the highly-toxic aluminum phosphide, Balmukund’s wife, Priyanka, reportedly called her father to . They were taken to the hospital, but only Prithvi could be saved. Balmukund died at the scene, while Priyanka and their elder daughter, Bhavya, died during treatment. Surat Police are now interrogating Rungta and probing to see if anybody else was involved in the harassment.
