Supreme Court Warns Dog Lovers Against Meddling In Stray Removal Drive In Delhi-NCR

As the Supreme Court ordered the picking up of all stray dogs in Delhi-NCR within eight weeks, it has issued a stern warning to dog lovers not to meddle in the process.

The apex court has warned both individuals and organisations of strict action if they interfere in the process of stray dogs being taken. The top court said, “If any person or organisation comes in way of picking up of stray dogs, action will be taken.”

A bench of Justice JB Pardiwala and R Mahadevan emphasised that the young children and infants must not fell prey to stray dogs under any circumstances. The bench noted, “We are issuing these directions keeping larger public interest in mind”.

It is worth mentioning that the ruling comes almost a month after the top court took suo motu cognisance of several reports highlighting dog biting incidents causing rabies.
