In a conversation with India Today, Akshay Oberoi expressed, “I haven’t been a part of a film like this before. Just the fact that I’m in a film like this expands my filmography. Usually, I’m in more intense and more dramatic films. I rarely get a chance to be in a comedy like this, and a full-family Bollywood entertainer made by Dharma. Sunny Sankari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ rounds out my filmography more than anything else. There’s a whole segment of the audience that perhaps is not fully aware of my work. This will give me a chance to be exposed to them also.”

He further added, “Every Karan Johar film! I wish I was a Dharma blue-eyed boy and that he’d cast me in everything. I wish, like the rest of the people he has under his wing, that I’d get films made for me. That would be really great. I’ve always wanted to be associated with him and work with him. I hope I get to work with him in a bigger capacity in the future. In some way, it shows that I’m being noticed within the industry because I’m getting a chance to be in a Dharma film. It feels like that. I jumped at the opportunity because I wanted to be associated with the production house.”
