Actor Sunny Deol delighted fans in Patna by recreating one of his most celebrated dialogues from the 1996 blockbuster Ghatak during a promotional event for his upcoming film Batwara 1947.
Sunny, accompanied by his son Karan Deol, visited the Bihar capital to kick off promotions for the period drama. Addressing an enthusiastic crowd, the veteran actor delivered his famous dialogue from Ghatak, drawing loud cheers and applause from fans gathered at the event.
In another interaction during the visit, Sunny shared that he was returning to Bihar after nearly three decades, making the occasion especially memorable for both the actor and his admirers.
The father-son duo was earlier welcomed at Patna airport as they began the promotional campaign for Batwara 1947, which marks Sunny Deol’s reunion with filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi, who directed Ghatak.
The film features an ensemble cast including Shabana Azmi, Preity G. Zinta, Ali Fazal and Abhimanyu Singh in pivotal roles. Based on the recently released trailer, Batwara 1947 explores the human cost of Partition through the story of a family caught amid violence, displacement and uncertainty.
The project also marks Preity Zinta’s return to the big screen after an eight-year hiatus. The film is reportedly inspired by noted playwright Asghar Wajahat’s acclaimed play Jis Lahore Nai Vekhya, O Jamya E Nai.
Released in November 1996, Ghatak, starring Sunny Deol alongside Meenakshi Seshadri, Danny Denzongpa and Amrish Puri, emerged as a major box-office success and remains one of the actor’s most iconic films.
