The ongoing Kathua Football League 2026, a youth engagement initiative of the District Administration Kathua under the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, witnessed two high-scoring encounters at the Sports Ground, GDC Kathua, today.
In the first match, Sunday FC registered a commanding 6-0 victory over Kharote FC, with Sushant scoring a hat-trick, while Amit Malhotra netted twice and Raghuvir Singh added one goal. In the second match, Hiranagar FC blanked Chandwan FC by 5-0, with Lalit scoring twice and Aryan, Aniket and Dhruv contributing one goal each.
The league is aimed at providing local youth with a platform for positive engagement while promoting fitness, teamwork, discipline and healthy lifestyles under the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan. The tournament features 12 teams.
Tomorrow, DPS FC will take on Khelo India, while FC UK will face Shadow Strikers in the two scheduled encounters.
