Sumona Chakravarti Deletes Post on Harrowing Experience During Maratha Protest in Mumbai

Actress Sumona Chakravarti shared a disturbing experience during the Maratha protest in Mumbai but later deleted her Instagram post, sparking speculation about the reasons behind its sudden removal.

Television actress Sumona Chakravarti recently shared a disturbing experience on Instagram involving the Maratha reservation protest in South Mumbai. In her detailed post, she described how a group of protesters blocked her car and made her feel unsafe. However, what has sparked further curiosity is that the actress deleted the post shortly after sharing it, without offering any explanation.

Post Described Intimidating Road Incident

In her now-deleted post, Sumona recalled how her car was surrounded by a group of men near Colaba while she was driving to Fort around 12:30 PM. One man, wearing an orange stole, allegedly banged on her car’s bonnet, pressed his belly against it, and danced mockingly. Others shouted “Jai Maharashtra!” and banged on her windows.

She wrote that the act was repeated within a few minutes, making her feel threatened and vulnerable, even though she was inside her car during the day in what is considered a safe part of Mumbai.

Criticism of Civic Conditions and Law Enforcement

Sumona also criticized the absence of police presence, adding that the only officers she saw were casually chatting nearby. She described the roads as dirty and taken over by protesters, eating, bathing, making reels, and treating the area like a picnic spot. She called it a “mockery of civic sense.”

Why Was the Post Deleted?

While the post gained attention and sparked discussion, Sumona soon deleted it without stating why. This move has led to speculation online, with some suggesting she may have faced backlash or pressure. Others applauded her courage in speaking out. As of now, the actress has not commented on her decision to remove the post.
