‘Such language only exposes growing desperation’: Dharmendra Pradhan slams TMC’s Abhishek Banerjee

New Delhi: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan hit back at Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Abhishek Banerjee and said that the response by the latter showed what people of West Bengal endured for a year after this government came to power in the state.

‘Abhishek Banerjee’s response was another empty threat’

He added that while Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah spoke of democracy, security, and accountable governance, the response by Banerjee was another empty threat that was delivered in full public view.

“Such language only exposes the growing desperation within the Trinamool leadership. When an election campaign is answered with intimidation and street-level provocation, it confirms exactly what the people of West Bengal have endured for years under this regime,” Pradhan wrote on X.

Bengal deserves political discourse, not intimidation: Dharmendra Pradhan

He added, “Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah has spoken of democracy, security, and accountable governance. The response from Mr Abhishek Banerjee has been yet another empty threat delivered in full public view. Bengal deserves political discourse, not intimidation; leadership, not political muscle-flexing.”

Pointing to the two-phase elections on April 23 and April 28, he added, “The people of Bengal are watching closely, and every such statement only strengthens their resolve to reject the politics of fear and stand firmly for democratic change”. The results of West Bengal, as also Tamil Nadu, Assam, Kerala and Puducherry will be announced on May 4.
