Jagat Shiromani Temple: Jagat Shiromani Temple at Amer, Jaipur is the only temple in the world, where Sri Krishna is not Radha or Rukmani, but is seated with his devotee. This temple is built by Maharaja Mansingh I’s Queen Kanakavati between 1599-1608.

Meera and Krishna’s unique confluence in Jaipur
Generally, the temples of the country have a statue of Radha or Rukmini with Krishna. But the specialty of the Jagat Shiromani Temple is that the statue of his worship and devotee poet Meerabai is installed here along with Shri Krishna. It is believed that this is the same Deity which Meera worshiped in Chittorgarh.
This temple was built by the Queen of the great king of Rajasthan
According to historians, the story of construction was built by Maharaja Mansingh I, the ruler of Amer, Maharaja Mansingh I. In fact, the king’s wife Maharani Kanakavati wanted to make the memory of her son Jagat Singh permanent. For this reason, the foundation of this temple was laid in 1599 and a grand form was prepared by 1608. The temple was also named “Jagat Shiromani” in memory of the son.
Amazing example of art and architecture
- The temple is a great example of Rajasthani and South Indian architecture. Built with white marble and black stones, the walls of this temple have been carved with scenes associated with elephants, horses and Puranas. The torana gate of the temple is world famous for its artistry and is said to be unique.
- The center of the faith of the devotees is that the wishes of the devotees who come here are fulfilled. On Janmashtami, there is a special decoration in the temple and devotees from far and wide reach here and see Shri Krishna-Meera. Throughout the day, the atmosphere remains devotional with bhajan-kirtan and tableaux.

- The Jagat Shiromani Temple has been the center of the film world not only of religious faith, but also the film world. Many Hindi films like Dhadak, Lamhe, Bhool Bhulaiya and Hamraj have been shot here. This is the reason that this place is also a center of special attraction for tourists.
