Deepotsav 2025: Ayodhya is being decorated for Deepotsav 2025. The entire Ramnagari will sparkle with millions of lamps and lights. Meanwhile, International Ramlila will also be staged. In which 90 artists from 5 countries including Russia, Thailand, Indonesia, Nepal and Sri Lanka will perform.
International Ramleela in Ayodhya Deepotsav 2025: This year, on the occasion of the ninth edition of Deepotsav, Ayodhya is emerging as an international cultural platform. As per the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, an unprecedented international Ramlila is being organized in Ayodhya, in which artists from Russia, Thailand, Indonesia, Nepal and Sri Lanka will stage the Leela of Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram. The participation of international artists will make Ayodhya a center of not only religious but also cultural tourism. This time a total of 90 foreign artists will present the Ram Katha in a lively form through their art and cultural heritage on the holy land of Ayodhya. Famous Ramlilas of different states will be staged in Ayodhya’s Ram Katha Park this year.
Amazing staging of the glory of Russian artist Swayamvar
15 artists from Russia will present the scene of Swayamvar during Ramlila. The unique blend of Russian traditional theater techniques and Indian storytelling in his staging will mesmerize the audience. Russian artists have prepared for months for this presentation and will give the audience the experience of the divine union of Ram and Sita.

Thailand : Scenes of three major wars: 10 artists from Thailand will stage the conflict between Shurpanakha and Ram-Lakhan, conflict with Marich and Ram-Ravana war in Ramlila. Through these wars, the story of Dharma and Adharma between Ram and Ravana will be presented to the audience. The traditional dance-drama style of Thai artists will make this presentation even more lively.
Indonesia : Lanka Dahan and Ayodhya return: 10 artists from Indonesia will present the scene of Lanka Dahan and Ayodhya return in Ramlila in a wonderful way. This presentation will make the audience experience the important turning points of Ram’s life and will give recognition to the cultural heritage of Ayodhya on the international stage.
Nepal : This time, 33 artists from Nepal will present a performance of power on Laxman for the first time in Ramlila. Earlier, Nepal’s Ramlila mainly focused on Mother Sita. This time’s presentation will make the international level of Ramlila in Ayodhya even more prestigious and will show the audience a new perspective of Ramkatha.
Sri Lanka : Of the 22 artists who came from Sri Lanka, two artists have already reached Ayodhya. This team will present the scene of Ravaneshwara on the land of Rameshwar. Even today the people of Sri Lanka believe in Ravana in the role of God and this sentiment will be depicted vividly on stage.
Role of International Ramayana and Vedic Research Institute
Ashutosh Dwivedi, advisor and special officer of the Ayodhya International Ramayana and Vedic Research Institute, said that this international Ramlila will run from October 17 to October 20. He said that the objective of this event is not only to keep the tradition of Ramlila alive, but also to showcase international culture and Indian cultural values globally.
