429 students from 18 boards will participate in the State Level Arts Festival-2025 to be held on October 13 in Prayagraj. Based on the theme ‘Developed India 2047’, this program will give a platform to the artistic talent of the students in accordance with the New Education Policy 2020.
The education system of Uttar Pradesh is no longer limited to books only. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, continuous efforts are being made to make education in the state a medium of creativity, joy and expression. In this direction, in line with the spirit of the New Education Policy-2020, to give a platform to the artistic talent of the students, State Level Art Festival-2025 will be organized on 13 October at St. Anthony’s Convent Girls Inter College, Prayagraj.
The theme of this year has been ‘Envisioning India of Developed India 2047’, under which students will present a glimpse of future India through their creative skills. 429 students selected from 18 divisions will participate in the competition, which includes 289 girls, 137 boys and 3 disabled students. Students who excel at the state level will represent Uttar Pradesh in the National Arts Festival.

Development of self-confidence and expression among students – Chief Minister Yogi
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that according to the new education policy, the objective of education is not limited to only academic knowledge, but also to inculcate art, culture and life values in the students. He said that events like Art Utsav strengthen the sense of self-confidence, creativity and expression among the students.
An amount of Rs 14 lakh has been sanctioned to Uttar Pradesh by the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India for the state level event. Out of this, Rs 9.30 lakh has been provided to Prayagraj at the district and divisional level, while Rs 4.23 lakh has been provided to Prayagraj for state level events.
Number of art genres increased to 12
Additional Chief Secretary (Secondary Education) Partha Sarathi Sen Sharma said that the art festival has been an important initiative of the Government of India since the year 2015. Its objective is to promote creative expression of students through art in school education. He said that under the direction of Chief Minister Yogi, continuous reforms are being made to make education more creative, participatory and enjoyable. In this sequence, this year the number of genres of Art Utsav has been increased from 6 to 12, so that students can get equal opportunities in both solo and group categories. It includes genres like music (singing and playing), dance (classical and folk), drama, visual arts (two-dimensional and three-dimensional), traditional storytelling.
Art festival will be organized in four phases
The art festival is being organized at four stages — district, division, state and national level. At the district level, 10,692 students (8231 girls and 2461 boys) from 1852 schools (694 government, 817 aided, 334 private and 7 others) of 75 districts displayed their art.
In this phase, 36 disabled students also participated and strengthened the concept of inclusive education. Divisional level competitions have been completed by 20 September 2025. Now excellent talents will be selected in the state level event, who will hoist the flag of Uttar Pradesh at the national level.
The resolution of ‘Developed India 2047’ will be strengthened through art
State level art festival is not just a competition, but a platform where students will express their imagination, culture and patriotism together. Under the theme of ‘Developed India 2047’, this presentation of the students will not only showcase their talent but will also give a glimpse of India’s bright future.
