New Delhi: Israeli Ambassador to India Reuven Azar is looking forward to his upcoming meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emphasising the strengthening of the bilateral ties during the official trip. The Indian leader will visit Israel on Wednesday, February 25, and will address the public at the Knesset, hold an innovation event in Jerusalem, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed.

Azar quoted that when India and Israel unite, it’s more than just a meeting. He also confirmed that both will make decisive progress during the visit. The Israeli Ambassador also confirmed that both nations are on the verge of finalising the Free Trade Deal (FTA), which will ultimately enhance their defense collaboration.

“Namaste, this is a pivotal moment for the relationship between India and Israel. We eagerly anticipate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Israel. When India and Israel unite, it’s more than just a meeting; it’s a partnership rooted in trust, fueled by innovation, and informed by a profound understanding of contemporary challenges. During this visit, we will make decisive progress,” the Israeli Ambassador shared a message on his social media.

Azar pointed out that India and Israel are not just merely partners; both nations are true friends and are shaping a shared future. PM Modi’s visit will be crucial to promote partnerships in AI, cybersecurity, and quantum technology. Israel is also keen for Indian infrastructure firms to invest in the state, according to the Israeli ambassador.

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu referred to PM Modi as his dearest friend in a cabinet meeting in Jerusalem, praising his upcoming visit to strengthen the bilateral ties. In response, Modi said, “Thank you, my friend, Prime Minister Netanyahu. I completely concur with you regarding the bond between India and Israel, as well as the multifaceted nature of our bilateral relations. India greatly values its enduring friendship with Israel, founded on trust, innovation, and a shared commitment to peace and progress. I look forward to our discussions during my impending visit to Israel.”

This will be Modi’s second official visit to Israel; his first was way back in his first term as Prime Minister, as he visited Israel in 2017.
