New Delhi: In a horrific incident in Greater Noida, a second-year B.Tech student has taken his own life by jumping from the fourth floor of his hostel. The student had returned to the hostel after a liquor party with his friends, about which the hostel manager had complained to his family, which led to the tragedy.
Student dies by suicide in Greater Noida
The student has been identified as Udit Soni, son of Vijay Soni, and a resident of Bhognipur in Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi district. He was a second-year B.Tech student who came to a hostel located in Knowledge Park-3 in Greater Noida after consuming alcohol with his friends.
Father’s scolding turns fatal
He was reprimanded by the hostel management for his actions, who sent a video to his father. Upon receiving the video, the father scolded Udit and demanded that he be removed from his enrollment and called home. Udit, disturbed by the incident, jumped from the hostel’s fourth floor. The authorities immediately admitted him to the hospital after receiving the information, where doctors declared him dead.
The deceased’s family members have reached the spot, and the body has been sent for a post-mortem. The police are questioning some people in connection with the incident. Following the incident, hostel students created a ruckus and vandalized the property. Police have detained two students and begun questioning them.
In other news, a migrant woman in Gujarat allegedly took her own life after fighting with her husband over a mobile phone. She wanted a new mobile phone from her husband, a request he refused time and again due to their poor financial condition. The couple fought over the issue, and it enraged the wife. Following the dispute, she hanged herself at their residence near Bhavanpur, and local people alerted the authorities.
