Kiran Abbavaram and Sri Gouri Priya’s Chennai Love Story opened on a strong note, with special premiere shows recording packed houses across the Telugu states on Thursday evening.
The impressive occupancy came as a pleasant surprise to trade circles.
On its first day, Chennai Love Story collected ₹4.40 crore net in India from 1,638 shows. Its India gross stood at approximately ₹5.06 crore.
The film also performed well overseas, collecting around ₹2.50 crore gross.
With this, its worldwide opening-day gross reached nearly ₹7.56 crore.
The film recorded an overall occupancy of 43.05 per cent.
Directed by Ravi Namburii, Chennai Love Story also stars Adit Arun, Siri Hanmanth and Devi Prasad in important roles.
Sai Rajesh and SKN jointly produced the film, while Mani Sharma composed the music.
With strong premiere numbers and positive audience turnout, the film has made an encouraging start at the box office.
