Yogi government has formed a hi-tech ‘Cyber Commando’ team to control cyber crime. These commandos, trained from IITs and national security institutes, will take prompt action against online fraud, data theft and cyber fraud.
Lucknow. Yogi government has prepared a special team of “Cyber Commandos” to break the back of cyber criminals and effectively control digital fraud. These commandos have been trained by experts from reputed institutions of the country on the lines of SPG and NSG commandos.
Just as NSG and SPG are proficient in their respective fields, similarly these cyber commandos are fully capable of stopping cyber crimes. They have been equipped with state-of-the-art technology and tools, so that the entire network of cyber thugs can be rooted out.
Hi-tech cyber commando team prepared on the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi
Cyber/CID DG Binod Kumar Singh said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had given instructions to take strict and effective action against the increasing cyber crimes in the state. In this sequence, as per the intention of the Chief Minister, a 15-member cyber commando team equipped with state-of-the-art technology has been formed. This team will not only curb cyber fraud and digital crimes, but will also play an important role in providing a safe digital environment to the common citizens.
Special training taken from IIT and National Security Institutes
These cyber commandos have been trained by experts from top technical and security institutes of the country. These include IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, Naya Raipur, National Defense University (RRU), Gujarat and National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU). Here they have been given intensive training in cyber forensics, digital tracing, online crime investigation and modern technologies, so that they can reach cyber criminals faster.
Cyber commandos will also provide training to police at district and police station level.
DG Cyber said that the 15 cyber commandos selected in the first phase have been selected on the basis of technical proficiency, analytical ability and field experience. These commandos will further train district and police station level policemen, which will increase their ability to deal with cyber crime in the entire state manifold. After training, they have been deployed at the police zone and headquarters level, so that prompt and technical action can be taken as soon as information about any cyber crime is received.
Strict action will be taken against online fraud, data theft and digital blackmailing
Cyber commandos will especially take action in cases like online fraud, cyber attacks, social media crimes, data theft, phishing and digital blackmailing. Along with this, these commandos will further improve the detection and investigation of cyber crimes by technically strengthening the police at the ground level.
Commandos equipped with advanced software and digital forensic tools
Yogi government has provided advanced software, digital forensic tools, data analytics systems and real-time monitoring technology to cyber commandos. With the help of these tools, it will be easy to track the digital footprint of cyber criminals, analyze financial transactions and access the entire crime network.
Big step towards strengthening law and order in the digital age
Yogi government believes that today crimes are no longer limited to traditional methods only. Cyber criminals are targeting common citizens using digital platforms. In such a situation, technically empowering the police is the need of the hour.
