Even today, traditional food is most liked in Indian homes. There is a treasure of such old dishes hidden with our grandmothers, which are not only delicious in taste, but are also excellent from the health point of view. Such are the green moong laddus, which are full of nutrition. You can make it a part of your diet in summer, because moong has a cooling effect. To make these laddus, we will use makhana and threaded sugar candy, both these things also have cooling properties.

Protein, fiber, B5, B3, calcium, potassium, magnesium, manganese, zinc, selenium, vitamin C, folate, vitamin A, and K are also found in whole moong. In this way, moong is an excellent food for your overall health. So let’s see the recipe of its laddus.

Ingredients of Moong Laddu

You will need 200 grams of whole moong i.e. approximately 1 cup, apart from this you will need 4 to 5 tablespoons of desi ghee (or take enough to bind the laddus properly). 12 to 15 cashews, 4 to 5 crushed cardamom seeds (or take powder). Apart from this, take 50-60 grams of makhana. If you want to add almonds, you can also take 8 to 10 of them.

Note the recipe of laddu

  • First of all, put green moong in water and wash it thoroughly by rubbing it with your hands.
  • After this, put it in a cotton cloth, wipe it thoroughly and dry it in air for some time.
  • Now you have to roast green moong on low flame in a thick bottom pan. This will take you 6 to 7 minutes.
  • Keep in mind that the flame should not be high, otherwise the moong will burn and there will be rawness inside, due to which the laddus will not be made properly.
  • Cool the roasted moong and then put it in a grinder and make flour. Make sure the texture is just like semolina.
  • Add desi ghee in the pan and after it gets heated, add moong powder i.e. flour in it.
  • Roast the moong powder on low flame while stirring continuously. When aroma starts coming out and color changes slightly, turn off the gas.
