Both the Nifty and the Sensex began the trading day and week on a flat note on August 10, 2026. The Nifty opened at 24,581.25; the Sensex opened at 78,501.59. Brent Crude oil prices gained on back of US-Iran uncertainty and traded near 85 dollars per barrel (at the time of filing this copy). The Indian rupee opened at 95.17 to the dollar versus Friday’s close of 95.21 to the dollar. All sectoral indices traded mixed in early trade and experts believe the market is eyeing significant cues going forward.
G. Chokkalingam Head of Research at Equinomics Research told Times Now Digital, “the domestic market is likely to be stable or even gain marginally. Global cues are positive as most Asian markets opened with gains this morning. FPIs turned buyers of Indian equities last week which can add positive sentiments to the markets. There is no major rise in global crude prices. So far corporate earnings growth is also quite robust in double digits. All these developments along with improvement in sowing area augur well for stability or some marginal rise in stock markets. However a major rise may not be there as there is renewed boom in IPO market which can chuck out liquidity from the secondary markets.”
