When is Diwali Muhurta Trading 2025?

According to the 22 September circular of NSE and BSE, the time for Muhurta trading on Diwali has been scheduled on 21 October 2025. The time of which will be from 1:45 PM to 2:45 PM. The last deadline for trade modification will be 2:55 PM. The circular states that all the trades done in this Muhurta trading will be responsible for settlement.

What is Muhurta Trading?

Muhurta Trading is a special, symbolic one -hour trading session held on Diwali, which is performed to celebrate the beginning of the new Samvat. The session will be held in 2025 for the beginning of Samvat 2082. Trading will be in all segments, such as equity, commodity derivatives, currency derivatives, equity futures and options, securities lending and boring (SLB). Talking about trading trends and returns, the Muhurta trading session in history usually gives positive returns, even if the trading volume is low. 13 times in the last 16 years, the benchmark index closes green.
