Steve Smith smashes 28 runs in an over to bring up maiden PSL century

New Delhi: Veteran Australian batter Steve Smith lit up the Pakistan Super League 2026 with his maiden century. Smith’s ton, which came off just 47 balls, was his sixth in the T20 cricket as the Aussie blasted 28 runs in an over to reach to the landmark during the game between Multan Sultans and Hyderabad Kingsmen on Wednesday.

The right-handed batter was on 80 runs when he blasted four boundaries and two massive sixes off Kingsmen bowler Hunain Shah to achieve the remarkable feat. Ending his innings on a score of 106 off just 50 balls including 12 boundaries and 6 sixes helped the Multans put up a massive total of 213/7 in the stipulated 20 overs.

The devastating over began with a four off a short of length ball and was followed by another boundary in the second ball. The third ball saw a massive six being hot by Smith over the deep mid-wicket while the fourth ball witnessed another boundary as there was no respite for the bowler. With another six off the fifth ball, Smith reached his ton and ended the over with a four of the last ball.
