Starlink India price revealed at ₹8,600 per month with ₹34,000 hardware cost and unlimited data

New Delhi: Starlink has finally shown what its residential plan will cost in India. After a long wait and many hints from the company, the pricing is now visible on the Starlink India website. I remember checking the site a few months ago when nothing was listed. Now the numbers are live and people in remote areas are already talking about trying it out.

The service is meant for places where broadband and fiber networks still struggle. Families in hilly regions, rural belts and highway towns could find this more useful than those already spoiled with fast fiber. But the subscription cost may still spark discussions.

Starlink India monthly plan priced at ₹8,600

According to the company website, Starlink’s Residential plan will cost ₹8,600 per month. There is a one time hardware cost of ₹34,000 for the antenna and router kit. That hardware is needed to connect with SpaceX’s satellite network.

Starlink said the system supports unlimited data and has a 30 day trial period. So if someone is not happy with the connectivity, they can choose to step away. The company said its network is “engineered to deliver more than 99.9 percent uptime” and works through different weather conditions. It is designed for easy setup. You plug in the gear and get online. That part sounds nice for a place where calling a technician can take days.

No business plan details yet

The Residential plan costs are clear now, but Starlink has not shared pricing for business users in India. Those details are expected later, once regulatory permissions and rollout plans are final. Business packages in other countries usually have higher speeds and priority bandwidth, so companies in remote industrial zones may be waiting for that announcement.

There were earlier reports about SpaceX hiring in India. The company listed new job openings like Payments Manager, Tax Manager and Senior Treasury Analyst for its Bengaluru office. These roles were described as part of the expansion of Starlink’s international footprint.

Ground infrastructure being planned

Sources have said SpaceX is preparing ground stations in multiple Indian cities. These stations help stabilise the signal and improve speed. It shows Starlink is not arriving as a small scale experiment. The company is clearly building its foundation before a wider launch.

Earlier this month, Elon Musk said Starlink is making strong progress and aims to bring high speed connectivity to regions where internet remains unreliable. That goal lines up with the plan in India, especially in states where home broadband still has gaps.

Can the pricing work for India

The monthly fee of ₹8,600 will feel expensive for many. Fiber broadband in cities usually costs much less. But Starlink is not targeting those users first. It is trying to reach the hard to reach locations where options are either slow or completely absent.

If the service performs consistently, some households and small businesses in remote regions might see value in paying extra for reliability.

The coming months will show how quickly Starlink grows here. For now, India has its first official look at the satellite internet pricing. And the countdown to full service has begun.
