Vikram Rathore: Sri Lankan cricket team’s preparations for the T20 World Cup 2026 are going to start with the series against Pakistan. The T20 World Cup will be played on the grounds of India and Sri Lanka from 7th February. Before entering that ICC event, Sri Lanka Cricket Board has taken a big decision. He has decided to make the coach who made India world champion as the coach of his team. We are talking about Vikram Rathore, who has been appointed by Sri Lanka as its batting coach.
Vikram Rathore becomes batting coach of Sri Lanka
Vikram Rathore was the batting coach of the Indian team till T20 World Cup 2024. Team India became the world champion of T20 while he was the batting coach. Rathore is also the assistant coach of Rajasthan Royals team in IPL. Now he will also be seen providing his services to Sri Lanka and trying to make it win the title of T20 World Cup 2026.
Sri Lanka are set to rope in former India batsman Vikram Rathour as Batting Coach lead up to the T20 World Cup. Vikram Rathore will take command from this day
Vikram Rathore will take over as the batting coach of Sri Lanka on January 15. This means that he will not be a part of Sri Lanka in the 3 T20 match series against Pakistan to be played between January 7 and January 11.
The T20 series against Pakistan is a part of Sri Lanka’s preparations for the World Cup. After that, by organizing a camp, he will work to remove his shortcomings in a better way before the T20 World Cup 2026. Vikram Rathore can also be present there to help the Sri Lankan team overcome its shortcomings. That is, it can be said that T20 World Cup 2026 will be the first big mission of Vikram Rathore after becoming the batting coach of Sri Lanka.
