Spider-Man Salaries Revealed: Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, Tobey Maguire – Know Who Is The Highest Paid Spidey

Spider-Man has been one of Hollywood’s most bankable superheroes for more than two decades, launching the careers of three-actors across different cinema eras. From Tobey Maguire’s ground-breaking portrayal in Sam Raimi’s trilogy to Andrew Garfield’s modern reboot and Tom Holland’s Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) success, each actor has earned significantly different paychecks for donning the iconic red-and-blue suit and becoming the friendly neighbourhood superhero.

While Tom Holland may be the reigning  for the current generation, turns out Tobey Maguire remains the highest-paid Spidey by a considerable margin. As per multiple reports over the years, Maguire earned around $4 million for the 2002 Spider-Man, which became a global blockbuster. His salary jumped to $17.5 million for Spider-Man 2 in 2004, along with an estimated 5 per cent share of the film’s box office profits. For Spider-Man 3 (2007), he reportedly received $15 million upfront in addition to 7.5 per cent of the film’s first-dollar gross, making it one of the most lucrative superhero contracts of its time. His brief return in Spider-Man: No Way Home (where he shared screen with both Andrew Garfield and   is believed to have fetched him another $1 million. This makes his total estimated earnings from playing Spider-Man to over $70–80 million.

Andrew Garfield’s turn donning the Spider-Man suit was comparatively shorter. The British actor reportedly earned around $500,000 for The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) and his salary increased to between $1 million and $1.5 million for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014). There are some reports, however, which suggested it may have been higher. Garfield also reportedly received around $1 million for his surprise appearance in   (2021). Andrew Garfield’s total earnings from portraying Spider-Man are estimated at around $5.5–6 million.

Much like the traditional , when Holland debuted as Spider-Man, he reportedly earned around $250,000 in Captain America: Civil War (2016), followed by approximately $1.5 million for Spider-Man: Homecoming. His salaries continued to climb through Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: Far From Home and Spider-Man: No Way Home, with the latter reportedly earning him around $10 million. Industry reports suggest Holland may have secured $15–20 million for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, though there are no official confirmations from Sony and Marvel.

While Holland’s earnings continue to rise, Tobey Maguire still holds the crown as the highest-paid live-action Spider-Man, for now.
