Sadie Sink has officially confirmed that she is part of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Possibly for the first time, the actress herself said that in a special video released by Marvel Studios via the social media handles of the movie. This makes the Stranger Things star one of the biggest new additions to Tom Holland’s next Marvel Cinematic Universe adventure. While her name has been confirmed, the studio has not yet said anything about the character she will be playing, which has led to a lot of speculation among fans.
Sadie Sink’s message to fans
On July 17, as part of its promotions, the Spider-Man Movie posted a video featuring Sadie on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter). In the caption, the post said, “We can confirm…she’s in this movie.” Interestingly, the clip shows Sadie addressing the fan theories: “Since the trailer dropped, I’ve seen so many theories about who I’m playing. To match your incredible energy, I’ve decided to give you three exclusive confirmed answers right now.”
She then tells her fans, “I can confirm, I am not Spider-Man. Second, I can confirm I’m not Aunt Mary. And third, I can definitely confirm that I am in this movie. As for who I really am, you’ll have to find out in the theatre.”
Spider-Man: Brand New Day franchise
will be Tom Holland’s fourth solo outing as Peter Parker, following Spider-Man: No Way Home, which ended with the world forgetting his identity after Doctor Strange cast a spell to make everyone forget he was Spider-Man.
Brand New Day will introduce new characters and change the Spider-Man world in the MCU, with Peter starting a whole new chapter in his life. In the movie’s trailer fans claimed to have spotted a tiny glimpse of Sadie, though it is yet to be confirmed. Sadie was also seen at the movie’s red carpet premiere recently.

Marvel hasn’t revealed Sadie’s character
Despite months of speculation, Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have yet to confirm Sadie’s role. Fan theories have been circulating online, one of the first being that she could play Jean Grey, the iconic X-Men mutant whose entrance into the MCU has been long-awaited. However, Marvel has not announced that any X-Men characters will appear in the film.
Other theories suggest that Sadie could be playing an interpretation of Mary Jane Watson, Firestar, Black Cat (Felicia Hardy), or even a new MCU character created specifically for the movie. All these reports are pure speculation for now, and Marvel has not made any official statement.

What to expect in Spider-Man: Brand New Day?
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is expected to pick up with Peter Parker following the events of No Way Home. Having no friends or family to remember who he is, Peter begins anew from scratch while still doing his job as Spider-Man.
The title itself is a reference to the popular Marvel Comics storyline “Brand New Day”, which rebooted Peter Parker’s status quo after major changes in his personal life. While it’s unlikely the movie will be a direct adaptation, many fans believe it will borrow elements from that storyline.
Tom Holland will play Peter Parker again, with Zendaya and Jacob Batalon also returning. The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, director of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Production is due to begin soon ahead of a planned 2026 theatrical release.
