CPRO of Central Railway, Swapnil Nila said, Central Railway is making complete preparations for Diwali and Chhath. We are running 1,702 special trains so that passengers can reach their homes easily and celebrate the festival with family.

These trains will run from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Pune, Kolhapur and Nagpur. Of these, more than 800 trains will be for Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and North-Eastern states. Apart from this, trains will also be run in other parts of the country. He said that for the convenience of passengers, additional ticket counters have been installed at major stations.

New waiting areas created for passengers

CPRO said, for the convenience and safety of passengers, waiting areas with a capacity of more than 3,000 passengers have been created at major stations, in which facilities like food, water, toilets and fans have been provided. Mobile UTS service is available for ticket booking and additional ticket counters have also been opened to avoid long queues. On Saturday, Indian Railways also said that strict action will be taken against those who share misleading or old videos related to railways on social media.

Action on sharing fake video

Railway Said that some social media accounts are spreading old or misleading videos, causing confusion among passengers. So far, more than 20 such accounts have been identified and the process of registering FIR has been started. Railways said that a 24-hour social media monitoring team has been formed to keep an eye on such wrong posts. Railways has appealed that people should check facts before sharing videos of crowds or incidents, and get information only from official accounts of the Railway Ministry like @RailMinIndia (X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube).

North Western Railway also ran special trains

Apart from this, North Western Railway has also made special arrangements for Diwali and Chhath. From here, 44 pairs of special trains are being run to Mumbai, Pune, Howrah and nearby areas of Bihar. Captain Shashi Kiran, CPRO, North Western Railway said, special arrangements have been made for Diwali and Chhath festival. At present 44 pairs of special trains are running. More trains can also be increased as per need. Apart from this, 174 additional coaches have been installed in 60 regular trains. Waiting areas have been created at big stations like Jaipur so that crowding on the platform can be reduced.
