NEW JERSEY: Brazil is set to face Norway in the pre-quarterfinals of the World Cup.
There are only hours left before the exciting clash at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Meanwhile, the statement by Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti in a pre-match press conference is currently doing the rounds among football enthusiasts.
When asked by a reporter about Brazil’s strategy to restrict Erling Haaland, Carlo Ancelotti went blunt and said that he has not yet made any special plan. He added that Brazil’s defensive players do not need to take lessons in this regard. Carlo said that Brazil players are aware of Haaland’s style as they have competed against Norway many times before. Ancelotti said that the target would be to beat Norway and not just Haaland.
But Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimarães admitted that they will be cautious of Haaland.
“Haaland is the type of player who takes advantage of opposition mistakes. We will be watching him throughout the match,” said Bruno.
Meanwhile, Norway relies heavily on the shoulders of Haaland and captain Martin Ødegaard. Haaland is just behind Messi and Mbappe in the Golden Boot race with five goals.
