A video is going viral on social media in which a female auto driver is seen with her 3 year old daughter. To keep his daughter with him, he has made a special small seat in the auto. Why does this mother have to do this?
Some videos on social media touch the heart and bring tears to the eyes. A few days ago, a video went viral of an auto driver who was driving with his daughter sleeping behind the auto. Now another such story of a female driver has come to light, who is carrying the responsibility of both her daughter’s future and her safety on her shoulders.
story of struggle
There is a story of struggle behind every female auto driver, and Komal Gaikwad’s story is also similar. Komal, born in Parbhani, did not dream big. She just wanted good education, a job and a happy life with her husband and children. But, due to financial constraints he had to leave studies after 10th. On the insistence of her family, she got married and came to Kalyan in 2018. Their daughter Teju was born in 2022. Komal named her daughter Teju. But when Teju was just 18 months old, everything changed.
Komal’s husband went to Parbhani saying that he would return in a few days, but he never came back. He just kept making excuses and stopped coming home. Life had become difficult for Komal and the responsibility of her daughter had fallen on her shoulders. It had become necessary to earn for the daughter. Komal started working as a security guard, but then she had to leave Teju alone at home. It was from here that Komal took the big decision of driving an auto.
Seeing many women driving autos in the city, Komal got courage and took an auto on rent. Initially, she used to drive the auto by putting her daughter to sleep on the back, but as Teju started growing up, it became impossible. So, she got a small seat made next to her seat and now drives the auto with her daughter along.
When most children are fast asleep at 6:30 in the morning, Teju sits in the auto with her mother. His entire day, from breakfast to sleep, happens in the auto. Komal earns Rs 400-500 a day, but most of the money is spent on house rent and ration. Still, she is trying to save a little for her daughter’s future.
bought my own rickshaw
Komal’s hard work is paying off. Five months ago he bought his own rickshaw on EMI. One day Komal posted a reel of mother and daughter sitting in an auto, which quickly went viral. Netizens praised it a lot. Since then, along with driving a rickshaw, Komal makes videos and posts small moments of her life on Instagram.
