In an engaging conversation with Filmi Beat, Soori and actress Aishwarya Lekshmi, who plays the female lead, discussed their experiences working on ‘Maaman’. Aishwarya Lekshmi shared that after hearing the script, she immediately decided to be part of the film. “I come from a small family, so when I first heard the story, only a few close relationships came to mind. But when I visited the shooting spot, I was surprised to see how every scene featured multiple characters. It made me realize that having a ‘Maaman’ like that in my life would be wonderful,” she explained.
Soori on his writing journey
Soori spoke about how the story of ‘Maaman’ came to life during the COVID-19 lockdown. “I wrote six to seven stories during that time, and ‘Maaman’ was one of them. While I wrote the story, it wasn’t mandatory for me to act in it. I know which roles suit me, and that’s why I decided to take on the lead role,” Soori said, reflecting on his creative process and the film’s personal significance.
