Sony Xperia 1 VII Launched With 120Hz OLED Display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Processor: Price and Availability

Sony has launched the Xperia 1 VII, which succeeds last year’s Xperia 1 VI. The latest model comes with several upgrades over its predecessor in terms of features.

Here’s everything you should know about the Sony Xperia 1 VII.

Sony Xperia 1 VII Specifications

The Sony Xperia 1 VII is a flagship smartphone crafted in collaboration with the minds behind Alpha cameras, WALKMAN audio, and BRAVIA displays. Designed to deliver an authentic multimedia experience, the Xperia 1 VII integrates these signature technologies and enhances them with Xperia Intelligence for real-time optimisation across photography, audio, and video.

In terms of features, it has a 6.5-inch FHD+ LTPO OLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it’s powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage, which is expandable via microSD card up to 2TB.

For optics, the Xperia 1 VII boasts a 48MP primary sensor (Exmor T for mobile, 24mm, 1/1.35″, f/1.9 aperture) with Hybrid OIS/EIS, complemented by a 48MP ultra-wide camera (16mm, 104°, f/2.0, 1/1.56″) and a 12MP telephoto lens.

The new 16mm ultra-wide camera sensor is 2.1 times larger than its predecessor, while the 24mm lens uses Sony’s groundbreaking Exmor T sensor. Together, they enable night photography performance on par with full-frame cameras-delivering low noise and a wide dynamic range.

Moreover, the device packs a 5000mAh battery unit and is claimed to offer two days of usage. On the software, it runs on Android 15 OS, and Sony promises four major Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates.
