Sony State of Play September 2025: Full list of PS5 game reveals and updates

New Delhi: Another State of Play has wrapped up, and as always, it brought a flood of announcements. This one was timed right before Tokyo Game Show, and it lasted about 35 minutes. Sitting through it felt like a rollercoaster, from big names like Marvel’s Wolverine to surprise arrivals such as Microsoft Flight Simulator finally landing on PlayStation 5.

We watched it live last night, fighting off sleep with coffee. The chat was buzzing with excitement and jokes, and honestly that’s half the fun. If you missed it, don’t worry, here’s a rundown of the biggest reveals that Sony dropped during the stream.

Marvel’s Wolverine gameplay revealed

The big closer of the show was Marvel’s Wolverine from Insomniac Games. We finally got to see Logan in brutal action. The footage showed him fighting in his yellow suit, slicing through enemies with plenty of gore. Familiar X-Men characters like Mystique, Omega Red, and even a towering Sentinel made appearances. Sony confirmed the game is set for a fall 2026 release, with actor Liam McIntyre playing Logan. Insomniac added that fans will see more of the game again in spring 2026.

Saros extended demo with release date

The show opened with Housemarque’s Saros. The extended gameplay looked like a spiritual cousin to Returnal, full of flashy particle effects and chaotic fights. We learned that the story follows Arjun Devraj on a shifting planet called Carcosa, where “every time the sun dies, time stretches and tears.” Weapons appear to draw power from the eclipse happening overhead. The game is now confirmed for March 20, 2026.

Battlefield 6 campaign trailer

Fans finally got a look at the single-player side of Battlefield 6. While multiplayer chaos has been teased before, this was the first campaign-focused trailer. The game is set to launch on October 10, 2025, which is just weeks away.

Classic and returning franchises

Several older franchises made headlines. Deus Ex Remastered will release on February 5, 2026, promising visual upgrades and smoother gameplay. Team Ninja announced that Nioh 3 will arrive on February 6, 2026, putting it right next to Deus Ex on the calendar. Bandai Namco’s Code Vein 2 is scheduled for January 30, 2026.

Another nostalgic surprise was Halloween, Illfonic’s adaptation of John Carpenter’s classic horror. The game is set for September 6, 2026, and lets players either survive as townsfolk or stalk as Michael Myers.

Microsoft Flight Simulator on PS5

One of the most surprising moments was seeing Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 announced for PS5. Once an Xbox exclusive, it will arrive on December 8, 2025. PlayStation VR2 support is planned but won’t be ready at launch.

Other highlights from the showcase

  • Crimson Desert will release on March 19, 2026, with a story trailer setting up Kliff’s journey.
  • Zero Parades – For Dead Spies from ZA/UM was unveiled as a narrative-first RPG steeped in espionage and paranoia, coming in 2026.
  • Chronoscript: The Endless End mixes 3D mansion exploration with 2D manuscript adventures, also targeting 2026.
  • Let It Die: Inferno, a roguelite survival game, is out on December 3, 2025.
  • The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, a free-to-play RPG based on the manga, launches on January 28, 2026.

Hardware and accessories

Sony also showed off special gear. The God of War 20th Anniversary DualSense controller will cost 84.99 dollars (around ₹7,389) and goes up for pre-order on October 3. A pair of official wireless speakers called Pulse Elevate were also revealed, set to launch in 2026.

Closing thoughts

For me, the charm of State of Play is that it never sticks to just one type of game. You jump from a horror title to a flashy RPG to a nostalgic remaster, all in one sitting. While Wolverine stole the spotlight, the lineup for early 2026 looks jam-packed. With Battlefield 6, Saros, and Nioh 3 all dropping close together, PlayStation fans in India will have their hands full.
