New Delhi: Sony India has launched its new home cinema solutions, namely the BRAVIA Projector 7 and BRAVIA Projector 9. These are native 4K SXRD laser projectors that rely on the new XR Processor for projectors developed by Sony to deliver professional-like cinematic imagery into Indian households. Sony continues to lead the home entertainment market with its premium home entertainment category with the introduction of this launch to its Cinema is Coming Home series.
The new projectors are bright, have deep contrast and ultra-smooth motion, making them perfect for viewing movies and sports and playing games. The BRAVIA Projector 9 has 3,400 lumens of brightness, and the BRAVIA Projector 7 has 2,200 lumens, which enables them to be used in any of the lighting conditions. The two models have a 4K resolution, 120 fps support, and other advanced features in gaming, including Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) and 12 ms input lag. It becomes available on 15th July 2025 in Sony-authorised stores.
Visuals with XR picture technologies
The XR Processor is a projector-based technology that drives four important technologies that include XR Dynamic Tone Mapping, XR Deep Black, XR TRILUMINOS PRO and XR Clear Image, which are powered by Sony. These guarantee a wide dynamic range, blacker blacks, saturated colours and upscaled near-4K quality. Dynamic Tone Mapping by XR processes each frame on the fly by dynamically adjusting the peak brightness, whereas XR Deep Black enhances the contrast of the darker scenes and drives the laser efficiency. The projectors are also IMAX Enhanced approved to give a better viewing experience.
Gaming and smart homes optimised
Players can experience super-fast gameplay with 4K 120 fps and an input lag of 12 ms. Auto Low Latency Mode is supported by HDMI 2.1, and Auto Low Latency Mode guarantees flawless operation with consoles and PCs. The projectors can be integrated with the smart home systems such as Control4, Crestron, Savant, and AMX and allow controlling them remotely through OvrC and Domotz.
The two models are made to fit into contemporary interiors, with the compact and lightweight constructions. It is also flexible in terms of installation, whereby it has corner keystone correction and lens shift functions. BRAVIA Projector 9 also has a Live Colour Enhancer to handle brighter situations, and Projector 7 has an added digital aspect ratio scaling that allows effortless interchange between screen formats.
