Sony BRAVIA Bar 6, System 6 launched in India with Dolby Atmos, wireless sound setup

New Delhi: Sony India is taking home audio up a notch with the launch of two new sound systems, the BRAVIA Theatre Bar 6 and the BRAVIA Theatre System 6. Starting July 1, these two products will be available across Sony retail and online platforms. The goal is clear: turn your living room into a cinema without overcomplicating the setup.

The BRAVIA Bar 6 and System 6 are designed for different kinds of users but share a common focus: immersive surround sound with deep bass, clear dialogues, and easy control. Both models are powered by Sony’s cinematic sound tech including Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and upfiring speakers in the Bar 6 for an overhead audio feel.

What’s different in these new BRAVIA sound systems?

The BRAVIA Theatre System 6 is a 5.1 channel setup with wireless rear speakers and a big 1000W output. It’s made for users who want a full surround sound experience, complete with a dedicated subwoofer that delivers heavy bass, the kind that makes action scenes feel real. It also brings Multi Stereo mode, which pushes stereo sound across all speakers, creating a louder and more spacious effect.

The BRAVIA Theatre Bar 6, on the other hand, is a sleeker 3.1.2 channel soundbar that comes with two upfiring speakers. These shoot sound upwards, making overhead effects like rain or helicopters feel more real. A wireless subwoofer handles the bass here, while Voice Zoom 3 ensures dialogue is always crisp, even during loud background scenes.

Sony’s new Voice Zoom 3 uses AI to detect human speech and boost it in real-time. Whether it’s whispers or normal talk, the feature keeps dialogues clean without turning up the overall volume.

Built for India, and easy to use

Tomoya Kato, Senior Acoustic Engineer at Sony, said the System 6 was tuned with Indian users in mind. That means deeper bass and clearer vocals, something that matters when watching local films or listening to music where lyrics carry the emotion.

Both models work smoothly with the BRAVIA Connect App. You can adjust volume, sound field, and switch modes directly from your phone. If you own a BRAVIA TV, the soundbar settings pop up right in the TV menu, so no juggling remotes.

Sony has also focused on accessibility. The devices feature tactile markings for HDMI ports and packaging that helps visually impaired users find the setup QR code easily. Materials used include recycled PET fabric and reduced plastic packaging.

Both devices support Dolby Atmos and are tuned specially for Indian content.
