Bollywood actresses are drawing boundaries after paparazzi videos put them in uncomfortable situations. Sonakshi Sinha, who attended Akansha Ranjan Kapoor and Sharan Sharma’s wedding reception in Mumbai on Sunday, refused to board her car in the presence of cameramen. A viral video revealed her interaction with the paparazzi. When Sonakshi remained firm on her decision, they stopped recording her. In the past few years, actresses have been raising their voices against paparazzi filming them from objectionable angles and during awkward situations for a few more likes and views on social media.
Sonakshi Sinha asks paparazzi to step back
In the viral video, Mumbai-based paparazzi continued following till her car. The actress said, “Bas guys, abhi gaadi ke andar nahi hai. Ho gaya. Thank you. Bye. Good night. (Enough guys, now don’t enter the car. Enough. Thank you. Bye. Good night)” She further added, “Jab tak aap nahi jaoge, main nahi baithungi. (I will not sit in the car until y’all leave)”

A few weeks before this incident, Sonakshi had snapped back at the for not allowing her parents, Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha, space to enter their car after a dinner outing. Zaheer Iqbal, her husband, tried to control the situation and had asked the paparazzi to stop filming. When they continued shooting, Sonakshi said, “Bas, guys. Thank you. Good night!” Despite the request, some cameras kept rolling and Sinha, who seemed angry, once again said, “Guys… Ho gaya. Ho gaya. Bas. Thank you.”

In 2025, Sonakshi spoke about the paparazzi culture in an exclusive interview with Zoom. The actress said, “Look at what social media has become. Look at what the pap culture has become. You can’t even go to a funeral without being clicked. I found it very bizarre. Beyond a point, you have to start ignoring these things and just live the way you want to live. But it did take a bit to get used to.”
