The trailer of Son of Sardaar 2 was recently unveiled at a grand launch event in Mumbai. The entire star cast of Ajay Devgn-starrer was present, making it a star-studded affair.
Amid this, Vindu Dara Singh, who is an important part of the action comedy, exclusively interacted with Zoom. In conversation with us, Vindu admitted that he misses Sanjay Dutt from Son of Sardaar in the second instalment. While talking about it, he revealed that Sanjay’s role was locked; however, he couldn’t be a part of the project due to some reason. Read on to know more…
Why Sanjay Dutt couldn’t do Son of Sardaar 2?
In an exclusive chat with us, Vindu shared, “It is heartbreaking that he is not there because Sanjay Dutt was a part of this movie. Everything was done, and his role was locked, and his visa got rejected or something. We had trouble because of some stupidity. We had already travelled for the shoot. And suddenly (we got to know) Sanjay Dutt was not coming. Everybody’s heart sank, and it was the biggest shock of our lives. Then we thought, should we just pack up and go back? Because we can’t think of this movie without him.”
However, director Vijay Kumar Arora insisted that they should continue shooting for the action comedy. “Later, they called the writer, who came from Punjab, and they sat for two days. We waited, and then they managed to do something incredible. When they made us hear that part, we were laughing all the way. Too funny it was!”
‘Sanjay Dutt was upset,’ reveals Vindu Dara Singh
The Son of Sardaar 2 actor further shared, “Then, Sanju was very upset. We spoke to him and he said, ‘Nobody in the world can play Billu’. And we knew that nobody in the world could be a Billu. If you try to make anybody else a Sanjay Dutt, that movie would not run. We managed to go around it and somehow finish this movie. But absolutely, Sanjay Dutt will be there in part three. And I hope the part three starts next month (laughs).”
Meanwhile, Son of Sardaar 2 is set for big screen release on July 25.
