Someshwara Swamy Temple: Marriage programs have been closed for the last few years in the Someshwara Swamy Temple located at Halasuruhalasuru in Bengaluru, Karnataka state. The temple management has given clarification in this regard. In the information given to the government, it has been said that such a decision was already taken to stop the spread of misinformation about the temple. Marriage ceremonies have been closed in Shri Someshwar Swami Temple for the last 6-7 years.
Earlier, when couples who got married in the temple did not get along with each other, they used to go to the court and file a divorce petition. After this, during the divorce hearing, priests were also produced in the court. It has been said in the information letter that due to all these reasons the priests refused to conduct marriages in the temple.

The Board of Management has taken this decision to protect the image of Someshwar Swamy Temple from being tarnished and from spreading false propaganda about the temple. The current executive officer of this temple said in a statement that the former executive officers had verbally informed the departmental superiors about this and had stopped marriage ceremonies at Someshwar Swamy Temple.

Someshwar Swami Temple is of the Lord of Gods, Mahadev. This temple is dedicated to both Shiva and Parvati. It is also very famous from historical point of view. Actually, the history of this temple is said to be from the time of Chola dynasty. This is the reason why this temple is counted among the oldest temples of Lord Shankar. Vijayanagara style of architecture can be seen in the walls of this temple. This is the reason why the carvings on the walls fascinate and attract people.
